RECENT NEWS

October 1, 2025:     We are so excited that The MENTOR Network Charitable Foundation has given TASP a 1-year grant to develop a curriculum for adult service providers to extend services to parents with IDD.  The project, called Providing Family Support for Parents with IDD and Learning Difficulties: Expanding and Individualizing Support, will enable adult service providers to extend their services to parents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This curriculum will transform existing disability service programs into family-centered support systems through a series of modules covering everything from foundational beliefs and human rights to practical service delivery and program evaluation.

July 1, 2025:     TASP has been awarded TASP a one-year grant from the WITH Foundation’s Legal Advocacy and Infrastructure Fund to develop a healthcare-focused Organizational Self-Assessment Tool for organizations serving parents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This project, Healthcare Access Self-Assessment Tool for Organizations Serving Parents with I/DD, will develop a tool that will help healthcare providers evaluate their policies and practices to ensure they are meeting legal requirements, providing equitable care, and addressing the unique needs of parents with IDD.

ABOUT TASP

TASP is a leading nonprofit committed to successfully supporting families when parents have learning difficulties.
Our Cause Defines Us

We know that lasting individual and social change come about when we work together to achieve a common goal. That’s why, supporting families when parents have intellectual disabilities is our cause. Every day we work side-by-side with researchers, practitioners, and self-advocates to ensure that all parents have a chance to parent.

A Chance to Parent

With a focus on research, education and service, TASP works to build the capacity of communities and families to support parents with learning difficulties.

We believe that the population of families in which one or more parents have an intellectual disability has not only been under-served, but discriminated against and repeatedly denied a chance to parent.

How We Do It

As a 501c3, TASP brings together some of the most knowledgeable and committed professionals and self-advocates to help YOU make a difference. Our work is centered around education (through conferences, webinars, and direct training), advocacy at the local and national level, direct support for parents and professionals, and resource sharing.
