Empowering Families, Building Futures: Support The Association for Successful Parenting (TASP) Annual Appeal
As we approach the end of another impactful year at The Association for Successful Parenting (TASP), we reflect on the significant strides we’ve made in empowering families and professionals, and advancing the rights of parents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our commitment to providing resources, support, and education has never been stronger, and we are excited to share our vision for the future with you.
TASP’s mission is to champion the rights of parents with IDD by offering a wide range of trainings, workshops, and advocacy support to parents with IDD, an underserved and under-recognized population whose rights are often violated. Our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to create a community where families can thrive, but we cannot do it alone. This is why we are reaching out to you with our Annual Appeal, seeking your support to help us continue our vital work.
In 2024, TASP has set ambitious goals to enhance our impact further. One key initiative is to ensure that our parent self-advocate board members have access to the latest training and conferences across the country. Non-discretionary funds are essential to making this vision a reality, allowing us to invest in the continuous education of our team and community members. By staying informed about the latest developments in parenting support, we can provide even more effective resources to those who need them most.
We invite you to be a part of this journey by contributing to our Annual Appeal. Your generous donation will directly support the professional development of our parent self-advocate board members, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of modern parenting, advocate for themselves, and advocate for others.
Beyond financial support, we are also seeking individuals who are passionate about our mission to join TASP in a more hands-on capacity. In 2024, we will be welcoming new members to our board and committees, and we invite you to consider donating your time and expertise. By becoming an integral part of our organization, you can directly impact the lives of families headed by a parents with IDD, and contribute to the success of our programs.
Together, we can build a future where every family has the support and resources they need to thrive. Your involvement, whether through a financial contribution or joining our team, is a crucial step towards achieving this vision. Thank you for considering our Annual Appeal and for your unwavering commitment to every parent’s right to parent.

Your Donations Support Parent Self-Advocates
Funds for parent self-advocates involved with TASP to attend 1-2 conferences in 2024.
Those conferences may include the 2024 IASSID Congress in Chicago, IL in August 2024, The Arc National Conference November 2024 in New Orleans, the AUCD National Conference December 2024 in Washington DC, or possibly others. These funds would go towards allowing 1-2 parents with disabilities to attend a national conference as a participant. Attending a national conference gives parents with IDD an opportunity to share their voice and contribute to national discussions about the rights of parents with IDD and how to support them.
In addition to sharing information about their work with TASP and how TASP can help the greater community, attendance enhances advocacy skills for parents with disabilities by providing education, networking opportunities, skill development, and insights into policies. It empowers parents, builds confidence, and fosters community, offering resources and connections crucial for effective advocacy in promoting the rights and well-being of parents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
